The Bad Pennies

The Bad Pennies formed in Vancouver, BC, in the fall of 2022, when Jeff Baker (guitar/vocals) and Mark Milner (bass) began jamming together in a rehearsal studio at Pandora’s Box. In early 2023, Jim Reid was recruited as the permanent drummer for the band. In June 2022, the band entered the BC Blues Challenge to begin building an audience. After the live performance round of the competition, the Fraser Valley Blues Society invited The Bad Pennies to represent the society, and by extension the province, in the band category at the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Since accepting that invitation, The Bad Pennies have played shows at The Blarney Stone and Lana Lou’s in Vancouver, and at Bully’s Studios in New Westminster. Upcoming bookings include a show at The Landing in Delta, two shows at The Admiral in Burnaby, and a return engagement at Lana Lou’s.
